# About Renderbux — Roblox Avatar Renderer & Render Maker

**Renderbux is a free Roblox avatar studio that runs in your browser.** Load your real rig by username, pose it in 3D, light the scene, and export a thumbnail-ready PNG at 1080p or 4K. No Blender, no Roblox Studio, no install, and no account needed to try it.

## Why it exists

Making a good Roblox thumbnail used to mean learning Blender: exporting your rig, fixing materials, fighting a node editor, and waiting on a render — hours of work for one image. The other option was an AI generator that produces a character who looks *roughly* like you, which is the whole problem when the point of a thumbnail is that viewers recognise your avatar.

Renderbux takes the third path: your actual rig, in a real 3D scene, posed by hand, rendered in the browser in seconds. The trade-offs are set out in [the honest comparison of AI thumbnails and real renders](/guides/ai-roblox-thumbnails-vs-real-renders).

## What you can make

- [Game thumbnails](/make/roblox-thumbnail) at 1920x1080 (16:9)
- [Game icons](/make/roblox-game-icon) at 512x512 (1:1)
- [YouTube thumbnails](/make/roblox-youtube-thumbnail) at 1280x720
- [Profile pictures](/make/roblox-pfp) for Discord, TikTok and YouTube, with a transparent background

## How it works

1. **Load your avatar.** Type a Roblox username and the live rig — outfit, accessories, face — loads into the scene.
2. **Pose it.** Drag joints directly, or start from a pose someone published to the [community gallery](/) and remix it with your own avatar.
3. **Set the scene.** Pick a lighting preset and a [skybox background](/backgrounds), or keep the background transparent to composite later.
4. **Export.** Choose an aspect ratio and resolution and download the PNG.

## Independence

Renderbux is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or sponsored by Roblox Corporation, and Roblox is their trademark. Your avatar data is read from Roblox's public API to build the render, and nothing is posted back to your account.

## FAQ

**What is Renderbux?**
Renderbux is a free, browser-based Roblox avatar studio. You type a Roblox username, your real rig loads in 3D — outfit, accessories and face included — and you pose it, light it and export a PNG sized for game thumbnails, game icons, YouTube thumbnails or profile pictures.

**Is Renderbux free?**
Posing is free to try, with no account required. Signing in saves your scenes, lets you publish poses, and raises the export quota. Renderbux Pro is $9.99 per month for unlimited renders.

**Do I need Blender or Roblox Studio?**
No. Everything runs in the browser on desktop and mobile — there is no rig import, no node editor, and nothing to download.

**Does it use my actual Roblox avatar?**
Yes. Renderbux fetches your live avatar from Roblox by username, so the character in the render is recognisably you rather than an AI approximation.

**Is Renderbux affiliated with Roblox?**
No. Renderbux is an independent tool made by creators, and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Roblox Corporation. Roblox is a trademark of Roblox Corporation.
